With a goal to make our runs more comfortable than ever, GEL-NIMBUS 25 is a daily trainer that succeeds to deliver exactly that: a great balance between ultimate comfort and security. These features make GEL-NIMBUS 25 a very reliable and my ‘Go to’ shoe for both long and stroller runs when my foot needs extra comfort and stability.
Impressions
I was especially excited to try the ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 25 - the newest addition to the GEL-NIMBUS family. This model is my go-to shoe for long and recovery runs and when I read the results from the independent research study (published by the Biomechanics Lab in South Australia) related to the superior comfort of this model compared to its predecessor (GEL-NIMBUS 24) and to three other direct competitor shoes, I was very curious to lace up my shoes and try it for myself.
After the long recovery process of a plantar fasciitis injury during the last year, comfort is the most important factor for me when deciding about purchasing running shoes. Also, I often run with a running buggy and my runs are more demanding than they used to be, thus once again the comfort comes first when deciding about the shoe I pick for my easy runs.
From the moment I first tried the GEL-NIMBUS 25, I knew, it was a level of comfort I’ve never felt before. I’ve got the Papaya/Dusty Purple colour and I couldn’t believe that this stylish shoe feels even better than it looks. The first time I took it for a ride was with the running buggy and I was surprised that I was able to pick up the pace easily, besides the soft and super comfortable landing. Even though the shoe weights 260g, it felt very light while running. Thanks to the PureGEL Technology and the lightweight FF BLAST PLUS ECO cushioning used for the design of this model, every stride feels like stepping on clouds. Having a narrow foot, this model fits me perfectly and I very much like the new stretchy knit tongue that keeps my foot well locked while the comfort is maintained.
Technology and New Features
- The new GEL-NIMBUS 25 uses new lightweight FF BLAST PLUS ECO cushioning, additional foam underfoot is added for even more comfortable running experience. The cushioning is made with at least 20% bio-based material that makes this shoe not only good for the feet, but for the environment too.
- The updated PureGEL technology used for the GEL-NIMBUS 25 makes this shoe lighter than its predecessors, strengthens the shock absorption and makes the foot contact softer at landing.
- GEL-NIMBUS 25 has a new soft knit tongue and collar construction for more adaptive fit.
