According to ASICS FrontRunner Megan Lagerwey (aka The Good Gut Guru) you shouldn't skip meals unless you are practicing (and thriving on) intermittent fasting.

"Your blood sugar drops when you skip meals consistently. This can greatly affect your disposition. If you’ve ever been 'hangry,' then you know the feeling,' Meg says.

"Glucose is the number one fuel for our brains so when we don’t have it, it can put us in a very bad mood. That’s why if you’re skipping meals and end up feeling hangry, don't grab the first snack you find, take time to prepare something nutritious and filling." Something like Meg's Salted Caramel Chocolate Chia Pot. Not only is it a 'good mood' food, but it can be anything from a mid arvi snack to a delicious dessert.

Here's how

INGREDIENTS:
3 tbsp chia seeds
soaked in 1/4 cup soya
chocolate milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
9 pitted dates softened
in hot water
1 heaped tbsp roasted
macadamia nut butter
A splash of water or
almond milk

METHOD:
Soak the chia seeds in the chocolate soya milk until they have fully expanded and set in your jar. For the caramel topping, blend the dates, vanilla essence, the nut butter and a splash water or almond milk until smooth (I actually liked mine with some dates chunks in it)

Add more dates and nut butter if you want a thicker consistency. Add a generous pinch of salt and blend. Then top it on the chia seed base and top with some nuts and cocoa nibs.
