FOUR NEW ASICS FRONTRUNNER'S JOIN THE FAMILY THIS MONTH, JOIN US IN WELCOMING THEM!

ASICS FrontRunner team members are 'ambassadors of movement' - they share their passion for moving and running to inspire others. They simply live and love what they are doing: spending most of their free time being active and moving themselves or others. This is a global movement and with an already epic team, there were very few additional slots available in South Africa this year.

We were inundated with applications (thank you all!), but after much deliberation, here are the four new team members (in no particular order):

Mbalenhle Gumbi

'Mbali' is an Educational Psychologist who is absolutely passionate about running and creating running-related content. Her biggest goal is to inspire others to work wholeheartedly towards their passion through sharing her past and present running journey. “Running has become my greatest form of therapy, and as a psychologist, I certainly believe that running can assist significantly with a person's mental health,” she says. David Fick

David is a Durban-based running enthusiast, who runs not only to exercise his body but also to strengthen his mind.  In 2020 he ran 12 consecutive marathons in 12 months. I learnt a lot about myself and my love for endurance running. “As long as I can run and move my body whilst continuing to grow and inspire others, I am at my happiest,” he says, adding that his love and fuel for running has only just begun and that his goals going forward are to improve on all aspects of his running (5km, 10km, 21KM and 42KM ). Stay in touch with David's adventures and training, here.

Cailin Whyte

Jozi-based Cailin is a self-described fitness fanatic. As a high school Sports Coordinator she lives and breathes sports and fitness. “I try to help our youth reach their full potential in their own sports,” she says. I am so excited to be a part of this incredible team of motivational people and can’t wait to help inspire as many people as I can around me to get that same feeling I get when I run.” Experience Cailin's joy for running, here.

Alex originally hails from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe but Cape Town has been his home for the past decade. When not out running he enjoys going to the gym and is deeply invested in self-development, health, fitness and all things movement. “I love running because it has taught me the importance of ‘showing up’ and challenging myself,” he says. Alex’s goal is to reach and inspire people all over the world to move and to chase their dreams. Be inspired by Alex and his journey, here.
